78th Post – Painting and finish work
Week 24 of Construction
You know the old saying it is like watching paint dry…this part has gone very slowly. It is very different when the construction crew is working you can see the progress daily, but with this work there is progress yet it is hard to measure. So our home is almost finished being painted inside and out. Just touch up painting needs to happen.
Here are the countertops; I think they look wonderful with our cabinets.
The finish work is nearly complete also. The pocket doors are in place and handles are being put on so all of the little things that add up.
Here they have made the connection with the power juction box so we are just waiting for PGE to connect the power to our home.

77th Post – tiling and finish work
Week 22 of Construction
I have completed laying the floor in the bathroom and pantry. We ended up hiring the tile floor in the kitchen and entry.
My mom even came to help with some of the tiling, thanks mom! It was taking me longer and I was becoming sore. Hmg, I am so glad I don’t lay tile for a living. I am sure you get use to the up and down, but it seemed like my whole body was aching. My husband said I was tile warrior. Last Wednesday, I tiled until 6:00pm and then prepared as much Thanksgiving dinner as possible. Then on Thursday, my husband and I started at 8:00am and finished at 3:00pm for dinner. (We only had ten people over for dinner). After everyone left we finished laying the tile. The other day, I grouted the tile so now I only have the shower to deal with.
Alex is working on the finish work and he is nearly completed. Now the painters are taping to begin priming the trim.I was asked, how many square feet in our home? We have 1970sf.
Be Blue – Protect our sky – If you have Christmas lights, put them on a timer so your not burning them in the middle of the night when no one is around to see them, don’t let the coal plants pollute for the lights.
